The Engagement Manager position is a leadership role within the Enkata Professional Services organization. Engagement Managers at Enkata are responsible for managing client relationships at the executive level and ensuring successful delivery of Enkata applications. Enkata is currently seeking qualified candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The candidate will be expected to travel up to 50%, in order to lead Enkata implementation projects at client sites. The Engagement Manager will report to the VP of Professional Services.
The Engagement Manager should possess the following abilities:
Must be a client-facing, big-picture thinker who can build and nurture relationships with client executives
Must have strong Account Management and Project Management skills
Must be experienced in managing enterprise software projects at Fortune 500 clients (project management experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, data mining, call centers is a plus)
Must drive the overall vision for a project/account and communicate this vision to team members and clients
Must understand system development methodology (such as Waterfall, FCT, XP) and be able to articulate trade-offs and comparisons during design
Must be able to manage offshore project teams of 3-8 resources throughout the project lifecycle
Must be skilled in account planning, project budgeting, resource planning and allocation and forecasting
Must work closely with Enkata's Engineering and Product Management groups to drive improvements to the solution
Must work closely with Enkata's Sales and Marketing groups to identify opportunities to expand Enkata usage at client
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements
An Engagement Manager should have at least 8 years of implementation consulting and project management experience. Advanced degrees are not necessary although they are considered a plus.
Project Management Skills
A minimum of 5 years combined experience in the following industries/disciplines: software consulting, software development, project management, client-server technologies, web-based applications, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
Call Center Experience highly preferred
Use of Project Management Methodologies and Consulting Best Practices
Building customer relationships by driving business requirements, and developing and architecting solutions
Leading customer presentations, product demonstrations and proof of concepts to educate customers on using Enkata solutions and architecture
Recommending strategic and tactical plans for expanding product usage within a client organization
A proven track record demonstrating good business judgment, an ability to make decisions, and passion for excellence
Mentoring teammates and developing professional skills within junior team members
Knowledge of data warehousing applications is a plus
